Our campaign is rooted in organizing, not waiting. We believe real change happens when people come together and take action, not when we hope someone else will fix it. This page is here to help us do exactly that: turn our shared values into real, meaningful action we can take right now. This is how we show up for our neighbors and build the future we believe in.

ABOLISH ICE

Right now, that work starts with immigration. What is happening in our country and in our region is not theoretical. Families are being harmed, people are being detained in inhumane conditions, and communities are being asked to accept things that should never be normal, including murder.

 

We believe we have both a moral obligation and a civic responsibility to speak up and to act. silence is not an option. The actions below are concrete ways we can apply pressure, stand in solidarity, and demand a system that treats people with dignity and respect.

  1. ICE out of Calhoun! Residents are organizing an end to Calhoun County’s contract with ICE. If you would like to get involved, please reach out to action@diop4mi.com. 
     

  2. Sign a Strike Card! Learn more about what a General Strike is and participate in economic solidarity through General Strike-West Michigan Chapter.
     

  3. Send a Message! Just Us People is organizing a public letter to the Calhoun County Sheriff calling for a community meeting and real accountability. Organizations can sign on by emailing Kawbcmi@gmail.com.
     

  4. Call your Congressperson! Urge your member of Congress to VOTE NO on funding for the Department of Homeland Security in upcoming budget negotiations.
